Buying a TV Licence
Five years ago today, my wife and I had walked from our new flat in Leytonstone in to Walthamstow to buy an aerial for our TV and a TV Licence.

As we walked from shop to shop, the news was slowly filtering through that the world had changed, and the defining moment of our generation was unfolding, as we walked the streets of East London.

Ultimately, we found ourselves sat in a pub, watching BBC news on the big screen, before making our way home to connect our TV, and call our parents to let them know how much we cared.

For my parents' generation, they all know where they were when they heard that John Fitzgerald Kennedy had been shot. For us, it's very much a case of knowing precisely where you were on Tuesday September 11 2001.

I was in Walthamstow, where were you?
